RTIS was first formed in 1985 when Richard Tidball bought a small Insurance Brokerage in Ivybridge in South Devon. The business was built up with the invaluable help of Lynn Strawbridge and later Sue Tidball. In 1996 it was decided to relocate the Office to Hatherleigh where all three partners lived. This proved to be a good move as the Company tripled its turnover. The next step was to become a Limited Company and this was done in 2004 with the three partners becoming Directors.

The business now employs a further 4 members of staff in its newly extended offices at The Royal Oak in Hatherleigh. RTIS undertakes every type of general insurance—from the smallest Private Car to large Fleets; from House Contents to Estates. Commercial Insurance is a specialist area and RTIS can obtain quotes for virtually every type of Policy and risk with special schemes available for all Agricultural related risks.
